Hiroshima is a vibrant modern regional city of Japan. A visit to the Peace Park and Museum including the Genbaku Dome (A-bomb Dome) building are very sobering experiences but informative and well worth the visit.

Other places of interest in Hiroshima include the Shukkeien Gardens, Hiroshima Castle, or a visit to nearby Miyajima. The Mazda automobile company is also based in Hiroshima and they conduct daily tours of their Mazda Museum and their sprawling factory tour.

There are a variety of western style hotels including Granvia Hiroshima, Intergate Hotel Hiroshima, and Sheraton Hiroshima. For those looking for more traditional accommodation we recommend the ryokans on nearby Miyajima.

Kyoto - It is approximately two hours from Kyoto to Hiroshima by Shinkansen (Bullet Train).

Osaka - it is approximately one and a half hours from Osaka to Hiroshima by Shinkansen (Bullet Train)

Tokyo - the time can vary depending on ticket type and Shinkansen type but it is between four and five hours for a Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo to Hiroshima

The timing of the cherry blossoms can vary from year to year but the cherry blossoms in Hiroshima and Miyajima are usually at their peak in early April.
