Winter Tours of Japan 2021 & 2022
Winter is special time of the year in Japan, being much quieter and full of traditional events and rituals. Snow against red gates of shrines and temples, or in the rural fields add serene feel to this densely populated country. We have created tours that give you the magic of winter in Japan.
This spectacular snow trip through Japan has it all – from snow monkeys and dancing red-crested cranes to the Sapporo Snow Festival and an icebreaker trip.
Had a fabulous time with a great group of people. I loved the country, the culture, the people and everything about the tour – hope to do another tour with JTTE – maybe Hokkaido or Kyushu next time

This was my first trip with JTTE and already I am looking at the program for next year thinking about another one. I liked the fact that it was a small group, the organisation was spot on and the food everywhere was outstanding.

Christmas in Japan
Ever dreamt of fresh powder snow and perhaps making a snowman on Christmas Day? We designed our Christmas in Japan tour to travel Japan in the quieter off-season experiencing a peaceful White Christmas as well as the build-up to traditional celebrations of the New Year in Japan.
You will be stunned by the streams of beautiful decorations in Japan. You can't help but be part of the cultural and traditional rituals leading up to the most important day on the Japanese calendar, the New Year Day.
Sapporo Snow Festival
One of the worlds’ most famous winter festival is the Sapporo Snow Festival on the northern Island of Hokkaido. The sheer size of the carvings and the overall spectacle will amaze. Other snow festivals run concurrently with the main snow festival including the one at the nearby wonderful little canal city of Otaru.
Winter in Japan is an excellent time to visit, there are so many unique things to see. We structured our Winter Spectacular Tour of Japan to also take advantages of many of these other phenomena, including the snow monkeys, the UNESCO listed farming village with the unique thatched roofes, the dancing cranes, and the Ice breakers on the drift ice.
